Now with two computers involved in our broadcast network we wonder if we should have more than one router.
It seems to me, prior to any other advice, that one router is insufficient with two computers online.
My guess would be to have three routers... a main router plus dedicated routers for each of the computers.
But, trying to anticipate shortcomings, although each computer would be well moated from the internet, LAN activity between the computers might be more difficult to setup.
Will appreciate thoughts and input on the subject.
I think it depends on your speed.
I just switched to a different company for phoine and internet bundle and the modem/router in one unit has jacks for 4 computers to run at the same time or can use wireless.
I have 6 mbps download speed and for one computer that's great but for more computers at the same time 15 mbps dowload speed would work good.
So one box could be all you need depending on the provider.
I can have 2 phones at the same time from the one source too.

I have a Netgear wifi repeater that piggy backs off of your main routers wifi signal or can repeat the signal from a ethernet cable connected between the two.
We have a dead spot and this repeater has helped a great deal.

If I understand you correctly, your proposed 3 router solution sounds like unnecessary overkill. Once upon a time, when I first started working for a commercial ISP back in the 90's, the router we supplied our customers actually was a hub on the LAN side, meaning the bandwidth of all the LAN side connections were shared. This particular router/NAT box had one WAN port and 8 LAN ports. If the customer had no router of their own to segment the network, had a lot of LAN traffic going on using several of those 8 ports, well that could be a problem. This is no longer the case, not sure you can even buy a hub any more. Almost certainly the LAN ports of your router are switching ports. Two PCs just are not a challenge for it even with a lot of LAN traffic. Now if each of your PCs were uploading and downloading tons of Internet traffic, the bottleneck would be on the WAN side and your solution would be a second Internet connection with a second router. I really doubt that is the case, I think you'll be just fine. I have 8 PCs, 2 printers, and a home security system working just fine on one router and one cable modem. I do have a switch behind my router but that is only because my WIFI router has only 4 LAN ports.

And that is good because of cost, equipment crowding , too many wires, too few power outlets.
