I have informed John Paul, admin, about ads in posts and when the posts are split up by ads things can be missed.
The ads should be on the right in the blank space. I share Artisan's quest to keep this forum alive and kicking and I know the ads in wrong places don't help.
Nothing more I can do as moderator but voice your concerns to him.

Mark

I use firefox with AD filter and there's no ads seen or splitting posts...

If I login on my phone with Chrome I see them...

@wefr They shouldn't be here atl. What's the purpose?.  If the site hadn't been transferred to wordpress we would not have these ads or would of we lost half the site. Artesian had pointed out the ads provides us free access to the site - but we are talking about $4 a month to be ad-free, not per person, thats $4 grand total for whole site.

Are all these ads really worth the $4 a month savings? - Id be more than happy to pay it, I pay twice that for the silly ai music toy. but then again it is not mine or the decision of any other part 15 hobbyist. It's not really our site at all is it? So I guess I'll just shut up and tolerate it. It's a no win situation

@wefr I use firefox and I have seen the choice to have the ad blocker, sometimes it pops up, but never bothered as I assumed it had a fee to it. I'll check om that again.

OK I just got firefox ad blocker for $10 a year and will see what happens! That's less than $1 a month. Supposed to work with youtube also.

Ads seem to be gone! Maybe that is the solution. Firefox gave me a choice of what to pay so I chose $10 a year. Just as good as free. Ads are gone from Facebook/youtube too!
Didn't know it was this easy.

Is it just me or have they now increased worse than they originally were? I usually come in on the recently posted page, and now I'm getting an ad between every other heading..

Cant even get a direct view of a list of the topics without scrolling the page. Usually ca see all thenew topics at a glance but now you have to scroll scroll scroll Ad ad ad ad ad ad ad.. all on the landing page. This is really nauseating. Disgusting. Am I the only one who feels it to be an embarrassing but predominant feature of this site?

Lol.. well, after battling to fight through the ads breaking up I discover there has been only 1 new post since I checked yesterday... So I guess the ads are the only ones posting. It's been quiet over the holidays.

Happy New Year Part15Ads!

@richpowers The adblocker works. I have Firefox and with Firefox ad blocker no ads.
If you are on a computer just do the same thing. "almost free" as I posted before.
Maybe on a phone you can't do it. There were a few posts this morning, Jan 1/2025

Hello all, not sure who is still seeing ads? The site is setup to NOT show ads to anyone logged in (which is anyone who is a member) - this change was made months ago. Let me know if you are still seeing ads when logged in. Post a screenshot.

Hello all, not sure who is still seeing ads?

Hey, JP, I haven't seen an ad yet, but I've only been back on the site regularly since the New Year. Things look good. I had emailed you last night and noticed the site was down, error 502?

Im not seeing any ads now but they certainly have appeared, and rather excessively numerous times within the past two months.

But no, now thst you mention it I don't recall any in the past week or so.
