A pleasant one page read..

“There have been rumors about phasing out AM and eventually FM radio in the U.S. I don’t see any immediate action on this but keep it in mind. There is still time to enjoy the benefits of AM radio.”

Pleasantly Read
Yes, Rich Powers, it was a pleasant read.
There is only one statement that I would like to build upon… the writer said that most radio listening is done in motor vehicles, but I would add that radio listening in and around the home and even the office is a much more enjoyable and freeing experience than watching a TV wall or balancing a laptop staring numbly into a screen.
With radio, one’s hands, eyes and mind are free to do anything from house cleaning to balancing the checkbook.
Part 15 radio is the ultimate in radio because it makes every individual a program director who can pick and choose from only the best.
WE, here at part15.us, are the leading edge of radio’s future.

I agree Carl. I tend to
I agree Carl. I tend to listen to the radio a lot at home, usually when I’m working on something or other.. If I make the mistake of turning on the TV instead, then the next thing that happens is I start watching it and whatever I was working on ends up getting negleted!
However, you got toadmit, for many, if not most people, they get in their car, turn the key and adjust the dial on their radio. Almost everyone I know has that radio on when driving, and the tv on at home.
..Maybe it’s just the people I know.

Sad Story
Like you, I have the radio on in the car when leaving home, tuned to KDX Worldround Radio, my personal part15 station.
But six blocks later all I hear is buzzing, and there are no local stations worth re-tuning.
Be that as it may, I also want to revise my earlier description of people involved with laptops…
Fact is, if not downloading audio on the computer, it is perfectly possible to dabble on a laptop while listening to a nearby radio.
Radio is what it’s all about.

And if need be, you could
And if need be, you could listen to audio on the laptop while repairing a broken radio.
Radio is what it’s all about.
